Hard work pays is a popular saying and it perfectly fits into the recent award of honour for outstanding performance given to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Ejigbo Division, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi, by the Legislative arms of the Ejigbo Local Council Development Area in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that CSP Okuwobi was given the award for her passion and commitment towards the protection of lives and property in Ejigbo through community policing scheme.

While presenting the award at the Council Chambers at Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, the leader of the House, Hon. Olanrewaju Akinbowale, noted that the Council had watched her activities since she took over as the DPO in Ejigbo, her response to the protection of lives and property in the area and noticed her excellent performance among the past officers posted in Ejigbo over the years.

“Hence, the Council decided to honour her by giving her award for Outstanding Performance in her duty with promise of providing 50 litres of petroleum every month for Police patrol vehicles.”

CSP Okuwobi thanked the Honourable House for the gesture and stated that the award will rekindle her efforts to work more in ensuring protection of lives and property in Ejigbo and beyond.
This award has joined other prestigious awards received by CSP Olabisi Okuwobi in the past for her outstanding performance including the CRAN awards for several years.
CSP Olabisi Okuwobi enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 2002 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP,  with passion to work diligently and professionally to change the image of the Force and lives and property of the people in any area of her engagement as Police officer.

She also has one distinct belief about life itself that is organic to her entire behavioural attitude and that is, to use her position to better the lot of whoever crosses her path. This is exactly what CSP Olabisi Okuwobi has been doing from when she graduated and joined the Nigeria Police Force.
When she was first posted to the Police Public Relations Unit as the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command, ASP Olabisi excelled and became the darling of every journalists, the public and Police officers. Her immediate boss, now retired, DIG Udom Ekpo Udom, could spare everything to anybody but ASP Bisi as she was popularly known, who he sees as a PRO of an inestimable value. It is therefore, not surprising that he went with her as his PRO wherever he was transferred to while in service.

CSP Olabisi Okuwobi is detribalized and selfless Senior Police officer with rare milk of kindness, whose ideology bothers on fairness -“Do to others what you would others do unto you”The Ijebu-Ode born Police officer is a firm believer in education as a veritable tool to enhancing human development if well applied. While her colleagues comforted themselves with just first degree, this graduate of English Language enrolled and got her Masters Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the nation’s Premier University. She did not stop at that; she is currently running her PhD programme in Diaspora and Transnational Studies in the same University of Ibadan.

Before her posting to Oyo State Police Command as PRO, where she was ‘inherited’ by several Commissioners of Police for her unrivalled public relations, Bisi was Divisional Police Officer, DPO Otu, Benue State Command and later Police Public Relations Officer of the same Command. She was at one time, the United Nations public information officer, Divisional Crime Officer, Challenge Division in Oyo State and was deployed to Lagos State where she held three positions-in-one  as the Officer-in-Charge O/C, Business Development, Research and Public Relations Officer of the NPF Co-operative Multi-purpose Society.

Until her recent elevation to the well deserved rank of Chief Superintendent of Police in June 2018, CSP Okuwobi held sway as the Divisional Crime Officer DCO of Ejigbo Division, a densely populated and highly volatile community in Lagos, where she brought her prowess in Public Relations, human and material management to bare. It was said that the news of her elevation to the rank of a CSP was received in Ejigbo Division with mixed grill. Whereas many celebrated with her, some junior officers and her Divisional Police Officer had prayed silently that she remained with them as the DCO because of her outstanding traits. But her soaring credentials would not allow that as even as she was said to have empathized with them she craved for more daunting tasks ahead in a career she seems bent on carving a niche for herself.

Like a gold fish which has no hiding place in the waters, the multiple award winner’s membership of several national and international organisations was sought for and at the last check, she is a notable member of International Association of Chiefs of Police, National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives, National Association of Black Law Executives, International Association of Women Police and the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations; to mention but a few. She is also a proud recipient of the coveted United Nations Commendation Award of Excellence, Rotary Club of Oyo State Chapter Award for Outstanding performance and the highly prized NUJ Oyo Chapter’s Best PRO, SouthWest. Her recent promotion to the rank of CSP is a clear testimony that only the best really deserves the crest.

CSP Olabisi Okuwobi is not only a super Police officer, she is also a mother to officers working with her; she cares for their general welfare and ensures that they perform their duties professionally for the over all interest of the people.

CSP Okuwobi Olabisi is a plus to the nation and a leader by example, She is dedicated and has passion for her job. It’s an Award well deserved. More accolades to your name gallant officer.

  2. Sesan Ige says:

CSP Okuwobi could best be described as the real amazon of this era; while some government officials travel abroad for jole de vivrie or rests, Okuwobi work more while abroad for a supposed vacation. While in Baltimore, Maryland she pushed every button to have a meeting with the police chief, called Commisioner of Police or AIG in Nigeria, as well as several top bras police officers in the US on how they fight crimes. CSP Okuwobi doesn’t need you to drive her around, she uses Uber or hops into public buses to visit places. Whatever awards comes this woman’s ways are well deserved.

  3. Insp. Peter Oboh says:

She is an outstanding officer with uncommon qualities. Some of us who have had the opportunity of working with several other officers before her, and many as DPO’s still wonder how blessed she is as a woman police officer. Particularly, in Ejigbo she has demonstrated high level of professionalism and changed the public impression of the police which, before now, was utterly negative. It’s a well deserved award and we pray for more of it in her career while also believing God for his kindness towards us as well.

  4. CHARLES Eguaoje says:

For those that have come in contact with CSP Bisi Okuobi would appreciate the personality behind the rank. She is one of the few good ‘Men’ that the Nigeria police can boast of today.

I will like her to rewrite the history of the police force in Nigeria as the 1st active IG. Nigeria as a nation has a lot to benefit from her wealth of experience.

Madam please keep up the good work. The lord is your strength, He would continue to guide you through the thick and things of your daily active.

Congratulations to a woman of steel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
