Defacing APC Billboards By Obaseki’s Agents Is Brazen Attack On Democracy – Says Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah

The APC New Media Campaign Council has condemned in the strongest terms the ongoing defacing and destruction of APC billboards across Benin City, particularly the recent vandalism of the billboard situated between Temboga and Lucky Way off Upper Mission Extension.
Reacting to the ugly development, Director, All Progressives Congress New Media Campaign Council, Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah, said that it amounts to brazen attack on democracy.
He said, “This deplorable act, reportedly carried out by agents linked to Governor Godwin Obaseki, is a direct assault on the democratic process and an attempt to undermine free and fair elections”.
“It is deeply troubling that such actions are being executed by individuals, who are supposed to uphold the values of our democracy. These billboards, which have been lawfully paid for and approved by the state government, are a legitimate part of our campaign efforts.”
“The deliberate destruction of these campaign materials not only represents an attack on the APC but also on the fundamental principles of fairness and justice that underpin our electoral system.”
“We call on Governor Obaseki and his associates to immediately cease these undemocratic practices. Resorting to intimidation and destruction of property reveals a troubling disregard for the rule of law and a lack of respect for the electorate’s right to an informed choice.”
“Such actions are inappropriate, unacceptable, and an affront to the democratic ideals that all political entities should respect and uphold.”
“To the electorate of Edo State, these actions are a clear indication of the PDP’s approach to governance – one that is rooted in fear, intimidation, and a blatant disregard for the democratic process.”
“This September, you have the power to reject such undemocratic tendencies. We urge you to vote against the PDP and its agents of chaos. Vote for the APC, a party committed to transparency, progress, and the genuine development of our state.”
“Let us stand together to protect our democracy and ensure that our voices are heard through free and fair elections.”
