Despite Sports Festival Delay, Team Lagos Will Excel In Edo, Football Coach Boasts

In spite of the delay in the National Sports Festival, Edo 2020, Team Lagos male football team are not resting on their oars, as one of their coaches is optimistic that the state would shine like stars comes in Edo State when the fiesta finally holds in the new year.
Recently, the federal government postponed the National Sports Festival which was scheduled to hold this December as a result of COVID-19 pandemic; the organisers shifted it to next year’s February.
The two weeks event would commence from February 14 through 28, 2021 in the city of Benin, Edo State.
Coach Hammed Sulaimon said that notwithstanding the postponement, the players have been training on a regular basis at Agege Stadium.
He said the team’s recent friendly games showed that the players are in their best form and ready for the festival .
Sulaimon popularly known as ‘Shooting’ said he is optimist that Team Lagos would wreck havoc in Edo in respective of any state that comes their way in the event.
“I hardly talk to media when it comes to issue of Team Lagos male football team but time has come for me to tell our fans that our team are preparing seriously, and I am very confident that Team Lagos would win the male football event.
“The friendly matches we played recently showed that our boys are hungry for success and nothing can stop us from winning the gold medal,” he boasts.
Sulaimon,however thanked Lagos State Sports Commission and Lagos State Football Association, LSFA for the support giving to the team throughout the outgoing year. He said the supports spurred the team to do well in the zonal elimination for the sports festival and all friendly matches played so far.
