Petitioners in their numbers in Lagos and Ogun States, Nigeria have congratulated the former Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Adegoke Fayoade incharge of Zone 2 Command, Lagos, for his promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG.

They also hailed him for being the best AIG the Nigeria Police Force and the Police Service Commission, PSC had ever posted to the Zone 2 Command, Lagos in history not only to modernise, sanitised and stabilised Operations, but also to inculcate discipline on personnel and repositioning the Command for quick and seamless service delivery to the public without the usual delay.

Some of those who spoke with our Correspondent stated that it would be very difficult for them to forget the humane manner and the fear of God Fayoade treated petitioners personally with due process and transparency.

They added that he set standards by approving their petitions same day they submitted it unlike before when petitioners would be told to come back endlessly.

The Petitioners said DIG Fayoade have greatly changed the negative mindset petitioners hitherto have against the Nigeria Police Force to positive with his superlative performance at the Zone 2 Command.

They appealed to DIG Fayoade to continue to replicate all the leadership qualities he had showcased at the Zone 2 Command, Lagos anywhere he is posted as a DIG and a crime burster to assist the Inspector General of Police to conquer the current insecurity ravaging Nigeria, adding that DIG Fayoade is a great asset to the Nigeria Police Force.

The petitioners also praised DIG Fayoade for dealing ruthlessly with suspected criminal elements in Lagos and Ogun States who hitherto believed they were untouchable and charging them to Court for peace to reign.

According to Chief Ayodele Eniba, a resident of Ikorodu, Lagos, “I will not forget the day I took my petition to the Zone 2 Command to summit as usual and go home to be expecting response at a later date, but a Police officer in the office politely told me to wait like others to summit my petition to the AIG myself and I was shocked to my bone marrow because Police officers didn’t allow me to see the AIG on the three occasions I had earlier submitted petitions to the Command.

“I was surprised the Police Officer call my name and took me to AIG Fayoade who swiftly approved my petition and handed me over to an IPO to investigate my petition. DIG Fayoade is the best ever posted to Zone 2 Command, saying it would be rare to see another AIG like Fayoade now DIG at the Zone 2 Command,” Chief Eniba stated.

Mr Olukayode Amosu, a resident of Itoikin in Ogun State stated, “I will always remember DIG Fayoade for dislodging, arresting deadly criminal elements terrorising, attacking and even killing residents of Itoikin and its environs for long and charging them to Court, a feat the local Police in the area could not achieve.”

Investigation revealed that what makes DIG Fayoade, a native of Osun State, excel in crime fighting and control and dealing with petitioners transparently is that since he enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP he had been in Operations Departments.

DIG Fayoade started his security excellence as a Divisional Police Officer, DPO incharge of Okota Division, Isolo and later at MAN Centre Division, Ikeja, Lagos and from there to Ilupeju and Bar Beach Divisions, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Fayoade was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP and was posted to Sango-Ota Command, Ogun State as Area Commander incharge and was promoted again to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP and later deployed to the SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos as DCP incharge.

Fayoade was later promoted again to the rank of Commissioner of Police, CP and was posted to the Force Headquarters, Abuja as head of Armament department briefly before being redeployed back to Lagos to head the Lagos State Police Command as the Cp incharge.

From there, Fayoade was promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police and deployed to the Zone 2 Command, Lagos where he performed excellently before he was recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police DIG.
