Domestic Staff Docked For Allegedly Stealing Boss’ N2.3bn Assorted Gold Jewelries

A 38-year old domestic staff, Nneka Anastasia Nndondo, has been arrested in Lagos State along with her accomplice, Lawal Abdulamin,46, for allegedly conspiring and stealing assorted gold jewelries and cash money worth over N2.3bn belonging to Mrs. Anana Emmanuel. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 13th July, 2025, at Osborne Road, Ikoyi Lagos.

 

According to the Police,  the first suspect, Nkechi, gained access to the bedroom of the complainant and stole the items with cash inside and escaped. She sold some to the second suspect, Abdulamin, who paid her some amount of money before she escaped.

 

The complainant reported the matter to the Commissioner of Police Monitoring Unit of the State Command. The operatives moved into action, eventually arrested and detained them at the Command for interrogation over their alleged conduct.

 

After thorough interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

“That you, Lawal Abdulamin ‘m’, Nneka Anastasia Nndondo ‘f’ and others at large on the 13th of July 2025 at about 1640hrs at Osborne Road, Ikoyi Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire together to commit felony to wit: stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

COUNT II:”That you, Nneka Anastasia Nndondo ‘f’ and others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did steal assorted gold wrist watches, earrings, bangle, necklaces, bracelets and cash sum of Two Million, Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N2,300,000.00) total value Two Billion, Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N2,300,000,000.00) property of one Anana Emmanuel ‘f’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lags State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

COUNT III:”That you, Lawal Abdulamin ‘m’ and others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did receive the sum of ($7,300) Gold Chain, Earrings and Gold Ring total valued at Twenty Million Naira 20,000,000.00) property of Anana Emmanuel f and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

COUNT IV:”That you, Nneka Anastasia Nndondo ‘f’ and ‘s at large on the same date, time and place in the mentioned Magisterial District did received $15,000 and Chain, Gold Earring all value at Fifty Million Naira (N50,000,000.00) property of Anana Emmanuel and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 328(1) of Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

However, they pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted them bail with sureties in like sum who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
