Don’t Set Anambra Ablaze! – Ogene Igbo Cautions Anambra PDP Over Nnewi Attack

Posted on February 6, 2021

Following the attack on one of the PDP’s Gubernatorial ticket strong contenders, Mr. Val Ozigbo’s health campaign rally today, here is the alleged message from the PDP frontline Gubernatorial Aspirant, Honourable Chris Azubogu:

“My brother Val, I just read on the media of the condemnable act, which in no way represents our party or our people. I stand with you to ensure that the culprits are brought to book. Just to assure of our regards, Chris Azubogu”.(Courtesy Azubogu Media)

Now my take:

This afternoon, political thugs swooped on the premises where Val Ozigbo was scheduled to kick start the Nnewi Health Walk. Materials worth huge amounts in Naira meant to run the healthy living campaign were destroyed and set ablaze.

I call on the Law Enforcement agents not to let this sad story fizzle away without bringing the culprits to book. We do not want violence in the forthcoming Gubernatorial elections in Anambra State. Our democracy have matured, Ndi Anambra have outlived the dark days of political thuggery, and blood letting. Those were the character traits of PDP before ndi Anambra chased them out of power, and vowed not to allow such ugly past repeat.

Anambra 2021 election is not a “do or die” affair. No room for the blood sucking demons, whose trademark is killing, maiming and all sorts of electoral violence. No to politics of bitterness on our political space! All known political parties, which are violent oriented, should not be allowed to throw the safest state in Nigeria into political crisis, and anarchic situation. Any political parties that endanger the lives and properties of ndi Anambra should be isolated, jettisoned, and rejected. Enough is enough! We will have a peaceful election and smooth transition.

 Ekenem!
