Driver, 38, Docked For Arranging with Armed Robbers To Steal Security Company’s N28m Toyota Pickup Truck

A 38-year old security company driver, Olukan Adeyemi Peter, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly conspiring with armed robbers to steal a N28m security vehicle belonging to Balance Security Services Ltd.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on October,2024 at Capitol Road, Agege area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect was employed as a driver of the security company and he allegedly conspired with others now at large and stole the vehicle.
The matter was reported to the Police at Isokoko Division. The suspect was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the missing vehicle.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Laws of the State.
Count one: “That you, Olukan Adeyemi Peter ‘m’ and others at large on the 7th day of October, 2024 at about 0445hrs at Capitol Road, Agege Lagos within Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit armed robbery and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 297 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
Count two:”That you, Olukan Adeyemi Peter and others now at large, at the same date, place and others at large, being the driver of one Toyota Hilux Pick-Up, Gray Colour with Registration Number KE 885 HP, did steal one Toyota Hilux Pick-Up valued Twenty Eight Million Naira (28,000,000.00) property of one Balance Security Services Ltd and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since the defendant pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
