A 30-year old truck driver, Sanusi Michael and his motor boy, Abdulahi Seshi, have been sentenced to six years imprisonment without an option of fine for stealing products belonging to Honeywell Flour Mills Plc they were to deliver to distributors.

They were jailed following the long trial after which the prosecutor, Inspector Kenneth Asibor proved their guilt beyond reasonable doubt before the court.

According to the prosecutors, sometime in 2014, the convicts loaded the truck full of flour products from Apapa, Lagos to be delivered in Warri, Delta State.

While they sold some bags, others remaining were discovered to have been tampered with.

When their act was discovered, they were handed over to the police by the company management.

The two were charged before Ejigbo Magistrates’ court where they pleaded not guilty.

They were granted bail and the matter was slated for trial since 2014.

During the trial, prosecutor Asibor called many witnesses to prove that they actually committed the offence.

While delivering judgement, the presiding Magistrate, Mrs J.O.E .Adeyemi commended the prosecutor for his deligence in the trial and found the suspects guilty as charged.

The truck driver was jailed for three and half years while the Motorboy was sentenced to three years on the three count charges which will run concurrently.
