Few days ago, after a detailed investigation that showed massive defect in the structural integrity of the Dubai Lodge, an off campus Student hostel in Ifite, Awka, housing over 200 Students of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, was sealed and shutdown by the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA).

The response team of seasoned Engineers made sure all occupants of the building were ejected without further delay.

Just last night, at about 10:15pm, the entire structure of the building collapsed with no single casualty recorded as this moment.

Thanks to the prompt and responsive action of the Anambra State government through the men of ACTDA, who have just saved the lives of these students who otherwise may have become victims of avoidable circumstances.
