Eight Teams Ready For Street Soccer Tournament In Lagos

Eight wards within Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA axis in Lagos are expected to take part in the first edition of Dr Kolawole Peregrino Street Soccer Tournament, which begins on Sunday, 7 December 2025, at the Obalende SUYA Junction

The three-aside football tournament envisioned by Referee Kade Oluwafemi is being sponsored by Honourable Kehinde Hassan in conjunction with Ikoyi-Obalende Football Coaches Council (Leader Shokoya-Olayinka).

At the draws held on Tuesday at Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA office, eight teams would face one another, and winners would proceed to the semi-finals on a knockout basis.

Four matches would be played on Sunday (7th of December 2025) as Obalende Central FC face Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA FC by 9am, Dodan Barracks tackle CDA FC by 9:30am, Keffi/Manuwa FC battle Obalende North FC by 10am, while Obalende South FC confront MOPOLZ/24 by 10:30 am.

Speaking at the draw ceremony, the LOC chairman, Referee Kade Oluwafemi expressed delight with the readiness of the participating teams and urged the players, coaches and fans to abide by the rules.

The Chief Sponsor of the tournament, Hon. Kehinde Hassan explained that the aside tournament is being organised to honour Dr. Kolawole Peregrino and urged the teams to avoid any social vices that can ruin the tournament.

Meanwhile some of the team representatives who attended the draws expressed satisfaction with the commitment of the organisers and thanked the sponsor for his support for football development in Obalende and Lagos at large. This tournament will last for the first three Sundays in December 2025.
