Ekiti Win NYSC DG’s Cup In Ede

National Youth Service Corps, NYSC football team from Ekiti emerged winners at the just concluded Osun Zonal Elimination of the NYSC DG’s Cup which was held yesterday at NYSC camp, Ede, Osun State.

Ekiti were a delight to watch when they defeated Edo 2-0 to emerge the champions. With this victory, Ekiti would represent the South West in the national NYSC DG’s Cup scheduled to hold in Abuja later in the year.

Momoh Mohammed was a match hero as he scored a brace for Ekiti to condemn their opponents to defeat. Ekiti did not lose a single match on their way to the final.

Reacting to the victory, Ekiti head coach, Kehinde Anjorin expressed gratitude to God for the victory commended his players for their resilience and doggedness throughout the competition.

“It was a hard victory for us because we fought for all matches before we got to the final stage. Our match against Edo was another tough match but we thanked God that we came out victorious,” he said.

Anjorn thanked the people of Ekiti and their fans for the support given to the team throughout their preparation and promised to have a good outing at the national NYSC DG’s Cup in Abuja.
