Ekwulobịa Flyover Bridge Fit For Public Use And Will Be Commissioned Soon – Says Anambra State Govt

Posted on February 4, 2026

The Anambra State Government said its attention has been drawn to utterly false, malicious, and wicked claims circulating online, alleging that the newly constructed Ekwulobia Flyover Bridge has been “suspended” from public use and marked for demolition due to alleged “structural cracks”.

In a statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Executive Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, the State Government said, “We wish to state categorically and unequivocally that these claims are completely false, baseless, and represent a deliberate attempt to mislead Ndi Anambra and undermine the significant infrastructural achievements of the administration of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR”.

“The Ekwulobia Flyover Bridge, which is due to be officially commissioned later this month, is a world-class infrastructure project that has been constructed to the highest international standards. The bridge has undergone rigorous quality assurance tests and structural integrity assessments by certified engineers and relevant regulatory authorities, all of which confirm that the structure is safe, sound, and fit for public use.”

“This legacy project, which comprises a 300-metre long flyover spanning from Nanka to Uga, a modern bus terminal, approximately four adjoining roads and special lighting, represents a transformative investment in the infrastructure needs of our people.”

“The long-awaited Ekwulobia Flyover is truly a sight to behold and will serve as a critical link connecting communities, dramatically reducing travel time, enhancing road safety, and spurring economic development across the region.”

“We wish to inform the public that the official commissioning ceremony for the Ekwulobia Flyover Bridge will take place later this month, as previously scheduled. Details of the commissioning date and arrangements will be communicated in due course.”

“Governor Soludo has consistently demonstrated an unrelenting commitment to infrastructure development that truly matters to the lives of Anambra citizens. This flyover bridge is yet another concrete proof of his administration’s dedication to keeping promises and delivering tangible results.”

“The Anambra State Government will not be distracted by mischief-makers and purveyors of falsehood who seek to discredit genuine developmental efforts through malicious propaganda.”

“We urge members of the public to disregard these baseless claims and await the official commissioning of this monumental project.”
