Police operatives from the Elemoro Division of the Lagos State Command have arrested an estate agent, identified as Kamoli Korode Sulaiman, over the rape of his neighbour’s 16-year old daughter.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident at 5 Olupa Town opposite tipper garage, Alawu in ibeju lekki LGA of Lagos State.
The father of two daughters was said to have engaged the neighbour’s daughter severally since she was 16 till year 2022 when she is now 18 before the alleged dastardly act was exposed in the neighbourhood.
According to their neighbours, the suspect, Sulaiman, will secretly ambush the victim without her parents knowledge within the said period. He would go to her school, pick her from there and take her to an unknown place, where he usually engaged her in sex romp for those years and asked her not to tell anyone about it.
However, the whole thing got exposed after their neighbours, who knew what was happening, tipped the girl’s parents and she revealed what was happening and how Sulaiman used to come to her school to pick her up for the romp and was the one who deflowered her.
The matter was reported to the Police; Sulaiman was arrested and detained at the Station for interrogation over his conduct.
During interrogation, Sulaiman was said to have admitted to have done so but with the consent of the victim, who was still a minor when the abuses started.
He may likely face the charge for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court for the alleged offence.
However, that will be after the conclusion of investigation by the Police.
When P.M.EXPRESS contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, over the the matter, his phone rang but he did not pick his call. But Police sources confirmed that Sulaiman was still in custody at the station and will be charged before the Court for the alleged offence.
