Posted on March 3, 2025

In a bold move to support education in Nigeria, United States-based Nigerian artist Ewol Samo, has announced plans to construct classroom blocks for three primary schools in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

This initiative aims to improve access to quality education and reduce the number of out-of-school children in Ibadan and Oyo State as a whole.

Speaking to our reporter during a phone chat, Ewol Samo emphasized the significance of giving back to his community, especially during this spiritually significant period.

“This is the season of Ramadan for Muslims and coincidentally, it’s also Lenten season for Christians. So, I want to use this period to embark on this charitable act as my way of giving back to society and my community.”

The artist further reiterated his commitment to ensuring that education is both accessible and free for underprivileged children in Ibadan.

His plan involves constructing new classroom blocks, renovating existing structures, and providing books and educational materials for children who may not have access to them.

“I plan to build classroom blocks for primary schools to add to existing ones and renovate where necessary. I will also provide books and educational materials to aid those who can’t afford it.”

This initiative reflects Ewol Samo’s deep-rooted passion for community development and his firm belief in education as a powerful tool for societal progress. His philanthropic efforts continue to make an impact, particularly in underserved communities across Nigeria, West Africa, and beyond.
