Ex Eagles Coach, Eguavoen To Handle Final Screening Ahead U-12 World Challenge Cup

Chairman of Iganmu Football Club of Lagos, Michael Egbayelo has appointed former Super Eagles Coach, Augustine Eguaveon to handle the final screening of the teams that will feature in the forthcoming U-12 World Challenge Cup scheduled for Japan.
The final screening to select the best players that will feature for his academy in Japan would take place on 15 April at Ado Ekiti Polytechnic, Ekiti State.
Egbayelo in a chat with PM EXPRESS said the final screening is necessary to select 15 best players that will represent Iganmu Football Academy in this year’s edition.
He explained that Eguaveon and other football scouts from Europe would conduct the screening exercise, saying that only the players that play to expectations of the coaching crew led by Eguaveon would be considered for Japan trip.
“Of course we are planning to do our screening next month in Ado Ekiti Polytechnic, Ekiti State. This is where the final screening would take place because we have done some screening in Lagos and Ogun States so the final screening would be held in Ado- Ekiti
Egbeyelo explained that he had singlehandedly sponsored the team to Japan last year without the assistance from Lagos State Football Association, Nigeria Football Federation NFF and Corporate Bodies.
“I personally sponsored the team to Japan with my money, no government support, no corporate support and individual failed to assist us. The expectation is high for this year because of our victory last year.U-12 Barcelona team have been the champions for the past three years before our feat last year. The Lagos FA and NFF knew about the tournament so we are expecting them to come to our aid this year,” he said.
