Excitement As NSE’s Saudi Arabia Eastern Province Branch Holds AGM, Inaugurates New Exco

The Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) on Friday, 30th January, 2026, held its Annual General Meeting.

 

The event, which took place at Karawan Village, Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, also saw the inauguration of the new branch Chairman, the newly elected executive members and also the induction of new members into the society.

Held under the theme ‘Beyond the Blueprint: Where Engineering Meets Entrepreneurship, the event brought together engineers, professionals, and members of the Nigerian Diaspora to reflect, connect, and chart a bold path forward for the engineering profession.

 

The inauguration of the Branch Chairman, Engr. Dr. Ayuba Adesina, was done by the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engineer Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, represented by the Vice President (Collaboration and Linkages), Engr. Ibrahim Aliyu Dutsinma, FNSE, who joined the ceremony virtually.

The Branch Chairman later sworn-in the new executive members with official permission of the NSE President.

 

The programme also featured the inauguration of newly elected executives and the induction of new members into the Society.

The event was spiced up by goodwill messages from distinguished personalities, including the President of NSE, Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, FNSE; Engr. Professor Sadiq Zubair Abubakar, President of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN); Dr. Ibrahim Modibbo, Acting Nigerian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; and Dr. Mohammed Bashir, Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation, Saudi Arabia (NIDOKSA).

 

Their contributions highlighted leadership, professionalism, and the growing global relevance of Nigerian engineers.

Other highlights of the event included the presentation of the Branch’s proposed legacy project, a multi-impact initiative covering solar power interventions for emergency and maternity centres and university study facilities, educational support through academic awards and examination sponsorships, and welfare assistance for orphanages and correctional centres.

The programme also featured the presentation of awards and recognitions to deserving members and sponsors.

“On behalf of the executive and the other members of the branch, I express deep appreciation to all dignitaries, speakers, members, and partners whose support contributed immensely to the successful hosting of this event,” newly sworn-in Branch Chairman, Engineer Ayub Adegoke Adeshina said.

Engr. Dr. Mohammed Abdullahi Muazu, FNSE, Vice Chairman;
Engr. Dr. Muizz Oladapo Sanni-Anibire, General Secretary;
Engr. Dr. Mohammed Alhaji Mohammed, Treasurer;
Engr. Dr. Zainab Yunusa, FNSE, Financial Secretary; and Engr. Dr. Nasirudeen Olalekan Ogunlakin, Publicity Secretary.

 

Others are: Engr. Mohammed Awwal Suleiman, Membership Secretary; Engr. Dr. Babatope Omotayo Kayode, Technical Secretary; Engr. Abubakar Danjuma Maiwada, Asst General Secretary; Engr. Dr. Babatunde Abiodun Salami, FNSE, Asst Technical Secretary;
Engr. Prof. Abdullahi Abubakar Mas’ud, FNSE, ex-Officio I;
Engr. Dr. Adeshina Adewale Adewumi, ex-Officio II; and
Engr. Olumide Bola Akinsanmi, ex-Officio III.
