Eyes On The Ball…

When Soludo said Anambra was “Not Broken” he spoke from the point of data driven knowledge. A Government that has suffered two recessions, drastic drop in Federal Revenues and a major pandemic has every excuse not to perform optimally. In spite of all these, Anambra workers are not on the streets protesting, Pensioners are not lying helpless on their retirement beds, the kind of huge spending required to keep the economy liquid with a reasonably controlled inflation rate is not lacking on the part of Government.

Soludo saw the booming “night economy” occasioned by the improved security of lives and properties, then the “light up” Anambra project that has made the nights safer and a remodelled State Capital that has attracted huge investments in hospitality and sundry areas.

In his informed opinion;

“It can never be enough. Human wants in themselves are insatiable. What is important is that there has been steady progress from where things were. Development is a process, not a destination. And if the process of Anambra’s development has continued to flow in recognizable symmetry, mere words of mouth arising from political biases cannot be our yardstick for determining whether it is broken or not. From the data and comparatively, Anambra is still NOT Broken. The process is still ongoing”.

For this Statemanly remark, the hawks have remained restless. But does it change the facts of the matter? I think upon completion of the many other audacious projects around the State we will have more believers than skeptics.
