The Chairman, Council of Ezendigbo, Lagos State, HRM, Eze Agbawodikeizu J. Nwalozie, will never forget 12th August, 2000, when the Igbo community in Ikeja LGA unanimously crowned him as the Ezendigbo for his outstanding contributions for the welfare of Ndigbo in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that this makes Eze Nwalozie the second oldest Ezendigbo in the LGAs out of 20 LGs in Lagos State after Ezendigbo of Amuwo Odofin LGA, Eze Anthony Elui.

Before Nwalozie was crowned as Eze Ndigbo of Ikeja, he was given the Chieftaincy title of Asiwaju Igbo of Alausa- Ikeja on 4th December, 1999. He was given the Ezeship as the Ike Ndigbo (Eze Ndigbo) of Ikeja 12th August, 2000.

Eze Nwalozie, who said he is very grateful to God for those years for protecting and guiding him through, recalled vividly how he was crowned and became Ezendigbo of Ikeja LGA.

He stated that it was late Chief Austin Ilodibe (Ekenedili Chukwu Motors)  that was first asked to become Ezendigbo in Ikeja but he rejected it and explained that he will not be able to do so before he was recommended by late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu’s brother, late Chief Uche Anyadiegwu.

He stated that initially he rejected it but when the Igbo Community continued to persuade him, he reluctantly accepted after he was given the chieftaincy title as Asiwaju Ndigbo for what he had done for Ndigbo in Lagos State especially in the Ikeja axis on 4th December,1999.

He explained that he was crowned Ezendigbo in 2000 by the people of Ikeja and the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State, which was well attended by prominent Igbo leaders and other ethnic groups.

Eze Nwalozie stated it has not been bed of roses because there had been challenges as paramount ruler but he was able to overcome all by God’s grace.

On how he became Chairman Council of Ndieze, Lagos State, Eze Nwalozie explained that after so many years on the throne, he was later elected as the Chairman of Council of Ndieze in Lagos State during the tenure of now Eze Ebere Ubani; he contested with one Barr. Nwoche and won in a transparent and credible election conducted by the electoral committee despite the fact that he was reluctant to contest for the position.

He also mentioned some of the executives that were elected with him to include Eze Leonard Okafor as Vice, who was later replaced by Eze Ephraim, who is the Ezendigbo of Aboru,  Eze John Nwosu, who is also Ezendigbo of Mushin and others.

Eze Agbowodike Nwalozie is a successful businessman, who have traveled to many countries across the world. He is married with children.
