The Board of Trustees of the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State, may have finally collapsed the Council of Ndieze Igbo led by Eze Chika Nwokedi by ordering them to remove the Community’s logo and CAC registration number from the certificates issued to their members because they were not recognized by the community.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that apart from giving them ultimatum to remove the logo and the registration number from the purported certificates issued to their members, they were warned not to use it in the future to confuse members of the public as genuine Igbo Speaking Community Council of Ndieze Igbo.
By the withdrawal of the purported certificates issued to their members using the logo and CAC registration number, 11, 534, the certificate have turned to sheets of paper despite the amount of money said to have been paid by members, thinking it was genuine because of the logo and CAC registration number.
The directive was said to have thrown the members into disarray and the leadership was said to be in dilemma over what to tell them after the BOT publicly disowned them as fake and not belonging to the Igbo Speaking Community as they were not recognized by the members of the BOT, who are the custodians of the Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos State.
This was disclosed by the BOT Chairman,  Dr Jonathan Nnaji, who explained that the decision was taken to separate the fake from the original because placing the Community’s logo and CAC registration number as many of them they issued the certificate were not recognized by the BOT and Council of Ezendigbo of Igbo Speaking Community led by Eze Agbowodike Nwalozie.
The directives, which was sent to the group through the president of Igbo Speaking Community,  Chief Sunday Udeh and some Ndieze belonging to the group, has caused ripples among the group and they are yet to respond.
The BOT had earlier disowned the group and warned the members of the public to beware of them because they were not recognized by the BOT and the Igbo Speaking Community.
The BOT Chairman, Dr  Nnaji, stated that the group had no record in the Board in line with the constitution and therefore, cannot be recognized by the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State.
However, while the group publicly displayed the certificates to members, it was discovered that the logo and CAC registration number of the Igbo Speaking Community was printed on them hence the decision to order them to remove it.
Dr Nnaji declared that the only Council of Ndieze recognized by the Igbo Speaking Community and BOT in Lagos State is the one led by Ezendigbo of Ikeja, Eze Nwalozie, whose election was duly conducted with the executives inaugurated by then president, Eze Ebere Ubani and observed by the BOT.
He recalled that the Council of Ndieze was created and formed in 2003 when he was the President of the Igbo Speaking Community as well as the BOT members and the tenure is four years and can be reelected by the Council members.
He explained that the recertification of the Ezeship crowned by the Igbo Speaking Community was the outcome of the stakeholders meeting held by the BOT at their secretariat in Surulere, Lagos.
