Eze Ndigbo Dies At Lagos Hospital

Igbo residents in Lagos have been thrown into mourning after one of their foremost tradition rulers, Eze Chuogo Okoye, Eze Ndigbo of Agege community was confirmed dead.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Eze Okoye died on Saturday at LASUTH after a brief illness.

He was said to have fallen ill recently which became worse and he was rushed to an undisclosed hospital but they were unable to handle the case. He was then referred to LASUTH where he eventually passed on.

The corpse has been retrieved from LASUTH and deposited to the an undisclosed hospital mortuary. The cause of his death was not immediately known because the family had not really disclosed the report of the autopsy.
However, sources close to the family said that the late Okoye was battling with an undisclosed ailment and the sickness became worse which resulted to his death.

Some of the traditional rulers who heard about his death had expressed shock over the sudden death. Before his death, the lateEze Okoye was the coordinator of Igbo Unity Foundation, IUF, Lagos State, the office he held for the entire Igbo people in the State.

Some of his colleagues had described him as a very humble, hard working and peaceful man who worked for peace of his environment and the Igbo in the State.

The family has not announced yet the date for his burial as arrangements were said to be in place to involve the stakeholders in order to give him befitting burial in his home state.

He was married and had children left to mourn him.
