Fake Nurse, 48, Docked For Damaging 20-Year Old Woman’s Womb During Abortion

A 20-year old woman may have to live the rest her of her life without getting pregnant following the damage caused in her womb during an unlawful abortion by a suspected fake nurse in Lagos State. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the 48-year old fake nurse, Abosede Aina, has been arrested and charged for causing grevious injury to the victim’s womb.
The incident happened at Londoner Avenue, Obawole area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to Police sources, since the abortion was carried on the victim on October 2022, she was said to have been bleeding due to the grievous injuries the supposed fake nurse inflicted inside her body.
The victim was later taken to an undisclosed hospital and there it was discovered that the womb was badly damaged and she may not be able to get pregnant and have a child.
The matter was reported to the Police at Area G Command, Ogba, Lagos. The fake nurse, Abosede Aina, was arrested and detained at the Command for interrogation over the alleged dastardly act.
After rounds of interrogation,  the Police found her culpable and subsequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However, she pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted her bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
The matter was adjourned till 20th September, 2023, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
