The family of late Mr. Elias and Mrs. Charity Ngozichukwuka Nwoke, from Imo State but resident in Lagos State, has publicly disowned their only son, Mr. Godwin Chidi Nwoke, 24, after he confessed to have killed his father, late Elias Nwoke and two sisters over property.
In the affadafit  dated on 16th April, 2024, sworn before the Commissioner of Oath at The High Court of Lagos State  signed by his mother,  Mrs. Charity Ngozichukwuka Nwoke and head of the Nwoke family,  Mr. Adolphus Umunnakwe Nwoke, they stated that nothing whatsoever binds the family and Godwin Chidi Nwoke and that the public should take note.
The affidavit stated:
“The family of late Mr. Elias and Mrs. Charity Ngozichukwuka Nwoke from Imo State resident in Lagos, jointly affirm and notify the general public of the disownment in part and in whole of their son, Mr. Godwin Chidi Nwoke, due to his ugly behaviour, occultic activities, stealing, raping among others, which is totally inimical to the ethics and moral etiquettes of the family”.
The said Mr. Godwin openly confessed having his hands in the death of their father, late Mr. Elias Nwoke and their prominent daughters, Late Mrs. Maryann C. Okafor and late Miss Chigozie Jenifer (all bankers) through his occultic activities.
The family had tried through several ways to make Godwin Chidi Nwoke repent of his immodest behaviour but to no avail.  He had been taken severally to professional psychologists, churches,  counseling centers etc. but he kept on with his awkward way of life. He was sent to live with a prominent pastor from where he ran away. All efforts were made to make him recant from such a negative way of living but he did not repent.  He was once taken to the Police station by a Rev.Father in charge our parish church on rape related matter, where he was caught trying to forcefully to have canal knowledge of the two minors inside the church toilet. On another occasion, he was brought home from the church being expelled from the church and was escorted home by two Catechist from the church.  Within the street of our residence of the neighbours children especially female minors were not spared”.
“To worsen the situation, he now focused on family property claiming that he is the heir apparent and that all the properties belong to him. So he started to threaten the lives of his mother and one of the remaining sisters that he will kill them if they refuse to relinquish the documents of the properties and threatening openly and little did we know that he had secretly packed all his belongings.”
“Therefore, all the members of Nwoke family had met and came out with an open disownment disclaiming Mr. Godwin Chidi Nwoke Gideon Elias as a member of late Mr. Elias and Mrs. Charity Ngozichukwuka Nwoke. All previous ties are thereupon severed from him.”
“Henceforth, he has nothing to do with the children, the immediate and extended family of late Elias Nwoke. Members of the public are hereby  strongly advised to desist from doing anything with him on behalf of the family .To do so is at their own risks.”
“By this publication, let it he known that nothing whatsoever binds him with the family any longer” the Nwoke family said
