Father, 60, Induces Abortion After Defiling & Impregnating Daughter, 14

A 60-year old man, Audu Usman, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly defiling his biological daughter,14, Impregnating and inducing abortion through a 43-year old auxiliary nurse, Mrs. Faith Akapa. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ogboro Area of Imeke, Badagry, Lagos, where the reside.
The father, Usman, has been charged before the Badagry Chief Magistrate Court over alleged defilement of his 14-year old daughter alongside the auxiliary nurse, Mrs. Faith Akapa, who was charged for unlawful abortion.
The prosecutor, Inspector Ayodele Adeosun, told the Court that the defendants committed the offence after the first defendant, Usman, defiled his 14-year old daughter and engaged the second defendant in 2022, to commit felony to wit committing abortion.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Sections 137, 261, 411 and 236 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015, and attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
However, the defendants pleaded not guilty.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Patrick Adekomaiya, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties in the like sum, who one of the sureties must be owner of a business or a manager in any organisation.
The matter was adjourned till 29th April, 2024, for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional centre in Badagry pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
