I Was Feeding Better Inside Prison Than Outside- Convict

A 35-year old two-term convicted criminal, Lukman Kadiri has confessed that his life was better when he was in prison custody than when he regained freedom and then starving.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Kadiri confessed in the open court that since he was released from Kirikiri Medium Prison before his arrest, he was unable to feed properly unlike when he was in custody.

He was brought before Isolo Magistrates court and charged for stealing under the Criminal Code.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Kadiri,who was arraigned in court for stealing some plastic bottles of soft drinks, pleaded guilty and waited to be sent back to prison.

The prosecutor, Mr Oje Uagbale presented the facts and informed the court that Kadiri was recently released from prison custody for committing another criminal offence and then, asked the court to sentence him accordingly.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr A.O, Ogbe found him guilty as charged and sentenced him to do community service.

At that point, he thought he was about to be taken to prison custody but was disappointed when he was told to do community service and go home.

It was then he revealed that he actually stole the items because he was hungry and found it difficult to feed after he was released from prison.

Kadiri who pleaded that his photograph should not be taken by the press, said when he was in prison, that he was sure of eating food and was not eager to come out.

He said when he was eventually released, he found it extremely difficult and was tempted to go back to prison.

He said he did not find any work to do when he came out and that was what led him to steal  what did not belong to him.

Kadiri was not the only person that have preferred to stay in prison custody.

Recently, P.M.EXPRESS reported how a 26-year old woman was released from prison custody and she insisted that she wanted to go back because the place was better than when she was outside.

She said she was shown love and fed well in prison which she did not experience before she was remanded.
