It was a bitter experience for the family members of Mr. Onyeka Egwudo who were billed to travel to the United States of America for summer holidays but ended up stranded at the airport.

It was gathered that the travel agent procured fake tickets for the 11 members of the family and their journey ended on a sad note when it was discovered the tickets were not genuine.

The agent, 51-year old Juliet Enweazu has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court and was remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri, Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the transaction took place at Surulere area of Lagos where Juliet’s office is located.

The victims suffered their fate after Onyeka contacted Juliet and paid her about N4 million to buy travelling tickets for members of his family traveling abroad.

After Juliet had collected the money, she went and procured the fake travelling documents and pocketed their money unknown to the innocent victims.

However, when the victims went to the airport to board the flight, they discovered that the tickets were all fake.

They were not allowed to travel and that ended their intended holiday.

The alleged fraud was reported to the police who trailed Juliet, arrested and detained her at the police station.

She offered to refund the money and had actually refunded N1 million before she was taken before Isolo Magistrates court for fraud.

She pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Adedayo granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.

When P.M.EXPRESS contacted Juliet, she admitted that the money was actually paid to her and she used part of it to process the tickets which she claimed were not fake.

She explained that it was the complainant that frustrated the arrangement she made for the tickets which affected their travelling eventually.

She said she wanted the matter to be settled out of court as she had started refunding the money after the damage had been done.
