Nigeria’s Falconets have reached the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after beating England 3-0 in their Round of 16 clash in Poland on Thursday.

Tosin Rafiu put Nigeria ahead in the eighth minute before Seimeyeha Janet Akekoromowei doubled the advantage shortly after half-time.

Mary Mamudu then completed the scoring in the 73rd minute as the Falconets secured a convincing victory at Stadion Miejski in Bielsko-Biała.

Nigeria made a fast start and took the lead when Rafiu found the net eight minutes into the game.

“When everything was down someone came up for me and I think I need to show appreciation, this award is for daddy Victor Osimhen,” an elated Janet said after the match on Thursday.
