Flourish Queens Win Through Penalties To Lift Tinubu Cup In Lagos

It was a day of celebration for the Flourish Queens Football Club of Ipaja after defeating Arising Stars Queens 5-6 on penalty shootout to emerge as the champions of Bola Ahmed Tinubu female soccer competition.

 

The tournament was organised by Prince Gas Global Concept in support for APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his electioneering campaign.

The former Lagos governor was eventually declared a winner at the last presidential elections.

In the encounter,both teams could not find the back of the net in a match which ended barren draw at the Igando palace playground, Lagos.

At the cup presentation, Obumneke Ayanwu of Arising Star Queens won most valuable player, while best goal keeper award went to Kaozara Bisiriyu of Flourish Queens.

The best coach of the tournament went to Kolawole Niniola of Flourish Queens.

Cash prizes and gift items were given to the two finalists as outstanding players were also rewarded in a competition sponsored by Chief Iyk Madu Obi.

Meanwhile in another final tournament tagged Olori Hadijat Gbadamosi and orgainsed by Prince Gas Global Concept, the winners were emerged in both male and female category.

In the male category, White Angels hammered Yaweh Soul 3-0 to emerge as champions, while Flourish Queens also defeated Ijamido Queens 1-0 to win the female category.

Match cordinator, Prince Sulaiman Gbadamosi expressed gratitude to God for the success of the competitions saying that all the tournaments lived up to expectations.

He particularly thanked Iyk Madu Obi for his contribution to the grassroots footbll tournament in Alimosho and urged other football philanthropists to emulate the kind gesture of Iyk Madu Obi for the growth and development of round leather game in Alimosho.
