Fr. Obimma (Ebube Mmuo Nsọ̣) A Failed Student Of Homiletics And Sacred Theology
FR. THEO NJOKU
The catholic priesthood is a noble vocation from the time immemorial. The Church and her ministers have played crucial and positive roles from the cradle of civilization till date. However, the recent happenings involving this old, cherished institution and her priests in the so-called healing ministry have become very worrisome and scandalous to the faithful.
Recently, the social media was agog by the viral videos of an Uke based merchant priest popularly called EBUBE MUO NSO demonstrating irrational behaviour from the pulpit. In the ignominious videos, the fake and loud-mouthed man of God was seen threatening the voters and innocent citizens with death, hell fire, catastrophic end et cetera in the just concluded by election in Onitsha North 1 Constituency of Anambra State. EBUBE MUO NSO OR EBUBE MUO OJOO, the magician and voodoo man in white cassock was visibly seen displaying raw traits of a psychiatric patient, deep- seated hatred and vendetta against the government and the law-abiding citizens of the state.
The activities of Fr. Obimma the Uke based business priest are everything unchristian. This man has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he lacks requisite formation for the catholic priesthood. From all indication, his formation in the seminary is deficient.
One wonders whether Fr. Obimma passed Theology class in the seminary. Did Fr. Obimma study homiletics in theology class? A pulpit bandit cannot be a good student of homiletics, Sacred Liturgy and Sacred Theology. Homiletics and Magisterium have maintained that the sanctity of the pulpit remains sacrosanct.
Unfortunately, EBUBEMUO NSO or EBUBE MUO OJOO, sees the pulpit as an avenue to entrench his personal idiosyncrasies and inordinate manifestation of crisis of identity.
EBUBE MUO NSO OR EBUBEMUO OJOO is a fake man of God with crass ignorance of the law. When you juxtapose the gibberish Obimma spills out daily in his business centre at Uke with the perennial teaching of the Church and Canon Law one must conclude that Fr. Ebube Muo Nso needs urgently to go back to the classroom for proper formation and psychiatric evaluation. Let the ignorant Fr. Obimma be tutored on the canonical and civil consequences of slander, libel, character defamation, false accusation bereft of material evidence and violent threats cum voter intimidation as enshrined in the electoral act. In a saner clime, the hierarchy would have wielded the stick to bring back the erring priest, otherwise what is the essence of the Church’s penal code for a serial offender.
In 1997, The Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria issued a Pastoral Directives On Healing Ministry. This directive should be the “instrumentum laboris” for any catholic healing ministry properly constituted. I advise Fr. Obimma to go through that document for proper elucidation and guidance.
The empty priest at Uke is averse to reading and research that is why he thrives in ignorance of the Church’s laws and proper directives. At Uke, the merchant priest lured by the lucre relegates the sacrament of anointing of the sick, sacramental and devotional prayers to the trashcan and replaced with concoctions, spectacular displays, fake prophesies, voodoo practices, sharp practices etc., as solutions to the predicaments of the faithful.
Liturgical aberrations remain evident in Fr. Obimma’s business centre at Uke and rites of the Church are freely altered with impunity. Spiritual welfare and benefits from the ministry are suppressed by excessive demand for money and selfish greed for popularity as an extraordinary priest.
EBUBE MUO NSO thrives in hysteria practices, artificiality, theatricality and sensationalism. Fr. Obimma should be go back to catechesis where he will learn that divination or fortune-telling and fake prophesies are unchristian practices. Worse still, any defamation which imputes guilt on and castigates the innocent citizens of Anambra state is a gross violation of fundamental human rights. The love of money is the root of all evils(1 Tim.6:10).
It is odious to use the adoration ground as a means of extorting money from the gullible faithfuls.
Who bells the cat?
