Ojoto Town Union In Lagos State Endorses Otunba Ojoto For Ohanaeze Presidency

The presidential ambition of Chief Emma Ubah (Otunba Ojoto) received a big boost on Sunday following the endorsement by members of his town union in Lagos State.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the indigenes  of Ezema community in Ojoto town converged at the home of Chief Ubah and unanimously endorsed him. They also promised to give moral, spiritual and financial support for him to achieve his ambition.

 

The event was attended by the town’s leaders, including the President General of the town, Chief Ndubeze Emejulu (Akaraka Ojoto), Chairman of Ezema community, Chief  Dozie Anozie, elders of the community including the Ojoto Chief Priest, David Aginam; men and women from the town witnessed the endorsement.

 

Also present at the event were Ezendigbo Gburugburu in Southwest, Eze Tochukwu Anosike and his entourage,  Chairman of all Chairmen of Ohanaeze,  Nze Edwin Egboka, Chief Uba’s campaign coordinator,  Chief Donatus Amuzie,  members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo from various Local Councils including Oto Awori, where Chief Uba is their chairman.

 

The Chairman of Ezema community, Chief Dozie Anozie, said that the community visited Chief Uba to encourage and give their support and to know the areas they will give more support. He assured him that the community is in full support and prayed that at the end of the day, there will be victory. He enjoined members of Ohanaeze to continue to support him and ensure he wins the election.

 

At the same time, the President General of Ojoto town, Chief Emejulu, said he attended the event to show support and assured Chief Uba that Ojoto town is in full support of him despite the fact that there is another candidate from Ojoto town.

He explained that he has been participating in both reconciliation and consultation since the issue of the election came up between Chief  Leonard Okafor (Oba Ojoto) and  Chief Emma Uba (Otunba Ojoto) and he settled for Chief Uba. He also urged the members of the town union to give their maximum support to ensure that Chief Uba  emerges victorious during the election.

 

The Campaign coordinator, Chief Amuzie, said that they have come a long way in the consultation that cuts across the Local Councils and Chief Uba is the consensus candidate for the rebranding of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos State.

He explained the mission of Chief Uba for seeking for the position of President of Ohanaeze, which has been in crisis for several years, is to bring lasting peace, unite and build a strong Ohanaeze for the progress of Ndigbo in Lagos State.

He explained that Chief Uba will restore confidence in Ohanaeze by working to make a widely accepted constitution, build a befitting civic center and implement think home project, which he will achieve within a short period once he is elected.

 

Chief Uba expressed happiness that he has received a big boost from his community and stated that with the endorsement, his ambition has been strengthened which has given him a strong base for the campaign.

 

He explained that he has consulting and reaching out to individuals, groups and his key opponent and brother, Chief Leonard Okafor (Oba Ojoto)

 

He recalled that before he declared his ambition, he first contacted Oba Ojoto and asked to know if he is contesting so that he will step down for him. He explained that after several visits and contacts, he eventually gave him the go ahead to contest.

 

Chief Uba said he was surprised that after he declared his intention and started making consultations, Oba Ojoto declared his ambition, asked him to step down for him and made some derogatory comments against him, which he ignored and moved on with his consultations.

 

He explained that they have had series of meetings and he has equally reached out to ask him to step down because he (UBA) declared his intention, consulted him and Oba Ojoto gave him the go ahead to contest.

 

Chief Uba stated that the situation now is that both of them from Ojoto town will be contesting for the president of Ohanaeze and a winner will eventually emerge after the election.

 

He thanked his community for their endorsement and support. He promised that he will not disappoint them if he is eventually elected as the Ohanaeze President. He also thanked members of Ohanaeze for their support and his campaign team for their resilience and believes that he will eventually emerge victorious.
