The Geneith Health Competition (GHC) is set to empower Nigerian youth as ambassadors in the battle against malaria, aiming to make the disease a thing of the past.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the event will be organized by CEOAFRICA, proudly sponsored by Geneith Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Powered by Coatal Forte Softgel. This initiative encourages students from secondary and tertiary institutions to engage in malaria awareness and prevention efforts within their schools and communities.
The competition provides a structured platform for participants to raise awareness about malaria and promote effective prevention strategies. With substantial cash prizes at stake, students are motivated to excel and disseminate critical knowledge throughout their communities.
Prince Cletus Ilobanafor, MD/CEO of CEOAFRICA, stated, “The Geneith Health Competition is not just a contest; it is a movement that empowers youth to take ownership of their health and that of their communities”.
Mr. Emmanuel Umenwa, MD of Geneith Pharmaceuticals, emphasized the importance of youth engagement, saying, “Nigerian youth must be at the forefront of battling malaria. By equipping them with knowledge, we can create a network of health ambassadors driving change”.
As malaria remains a significant public health challenge in Nigeria, the GHC aligns with global health goals and highlights the pivotal role that youth can play in fostering societal change. Registration for the Geneith Health Competition is currently ongoing, and students are encouraged to participate.
Inspiring participants, the competition champions various mottos: “End malaria, our strongest challenge yet;” “Your health, your defense against malaria;” “Stand strong, stay malaria-free;” “Mosquitoes don’t rest, neither should we;” and “Join the competition, beat the bite”.
“We call upon all young individuals to join this vital initiative,” Ilobanafor urged. “Together, as youth ambassadors, we can make malaria a thing of the past in Nigeria.”
