Glo-powered CNN African Voices Host Star Athletes

Globacom-sponsored CNN African Voices will  this week receive three star athletes whose unwavering dedication to their chosen careers has propelled them to break compelling records.

The programme will be air on Friday at 9.30 a.m., while repeat editions will be broadcast at 3.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. on Saturday and 11.30 a.m and 6.30 p.m. on Sunday with added repeats at 10.30 a.m. on Monday and 4.30 a.m. on Tuesday.

One of the star athletes is Gift Ngoepe, 28-year-old South African professional baseball player who is the second baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays in the Major League Baseball. Rasta-haired  and lanky, Ngoepe will take viewers on a journey on how he made history as the first African born player in the Major League as well as what drives his passion for the energetic commitment.

The second guest on the show, Saad Abid from  Morocco, is an adventurer, environmentalist , inspirational speaker and successful surfer whose passion for the outdoors evolved into a desire  to preserve and protect  the environment.

Lastly on the programme is popular trail runner from Cape Town, South Africa, Ryan Nicholas Sanders.

Fondly called “Hedgie”, he was the first competitor to come tops in all the four desert races.

He will be telling viewers how he successfully won each race including  a 6/7 day, 250 kilometer self-supported footrace through the Atacama Desert in Chile, the Gobi Desert in China, the Sahara Desert in  Egypt and  the Antartica in the South Pole.
