GLOIN60SECONDS: Second Batch Winners Receive Prizes

The second set of winners in the ongoing social media talent hunt by Globacom,the GLOIN60SECONDS,  received their prizes on Wednesday in six locations across the country.

In a statement issued by the giant telecommunications company, the winners who were presented with their prizes at the company’s customer service outlets, Gloworld shops, had participated in the contest by posting their short talent video skits online.

In Lagos, two winners, Kwara-born, Doyinsola Hazfeezah Salau, a 400-level law student of University of Lagos, and Ngini Chinazom, a medical student of University of Lagos, who received their prizes at Gloworld shop, Ikeja City Mall and at Adeniran Ogunsanya, Surulere respectively, expressed their joy and happiness for emerging winners out of thousands of Nigerians that uploaded their videos.

“I am happy and very delighted to receive the prize,” said Doyinsola, while a highly ecstatic, Chinazom commended Globacom for empowering the youth through the competition. “I thank Globacom for this opportunity; I will continue to post more videos until the end of the competition. I might be lucky a second time,” enthused Chinazom.

At other locations, winners who received their prizes at various Gloworld shops include Ayoade Daniel Olaide, who received his prize in Ibadan. He thanked God and Glo for the prize and explained that his cash prize would assist him to complete his tuition fees at Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, where he is a 500 level student of Animal production.

The rest are the duo of Chinaza Ezeani and Chikaodili Patience Okonkwo, who were presented with their prizes in Enugu.

An elated Chinaza Ezeani, a 21-year old English graduate of Unizik, Awka, said “I would put the money into buying equipment  that would make my skit production better, like tripod and a camera” while Chikaodili, a first year sociology student at Enugu State University explained that “I would use it to promote my new music track.”

Also in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, a student of Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Onyekachi Madubuike whilst collecting his prize thanked Globacom for what he described as “my New Year present”.

The winners collectively urged other Nigerians to log online to Glo and upload their videos to be part of the ongoing challenge.

The statement further stated that subscribers who wish to participate in GLOIN60SECONDS competition are expected to upload a one-minute video of themselves showcasing their talents on their social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and hashtag it on #GLOIN60SECONDS. The video could either be on music, dance, comedy, poetry or any other creative ability.

In addition, they are expected to follow Glo on any of the company’s social media pages@Globacomlimited on Instagram, @Gloworldon Twitter and Gloworld on Facebook. Participants need to register, record and upload their videos online.

Seven lucky contestants with the highest video likes will win N50,000 each every week in the challenge which runs between December 10, 2018 and February 3, 2019, making a total of 56 winners, while a grand prize of 1 million naira will be won by the overall winner at the grand finale.  In addition, N200, 000 consolation prizes will be presented to 5 runners-up.
