Good Governance: Akire Rallies Support For Oyetola

Citizens of the State of Osun have been called upon to rally round Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to enable him deliver more dividends of democracy.

The Akire of Ikire, Oba Abdul-Azeez Ogunkojo, Ilufemiloye I, made the call while delivering a goodwill message during the flag-off of the extended special public works programme (774,000 jobs) in the State of Osun, on Monday.

Akire, who poured encomiums on the governor over his performance said that he had performed creditably well in all sectors.

He said: “Governance is all about how people who occupy political offices use the instrumentality of trust to better the lives of the citizens”.

“In the State of Osun, our Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, has shown himself as a wonderful person. Despite the paucity of funds, he is still able to embark on infrastructural developments, he is still taking care of the people in civil service, while also not neglecting the down-trodden masses in the State.”

“He is not a magician as some would love to think. Mr Governor is simply a good manager of both material and human resources.”

“It is in this light that I wish to urge the good people of Osun to continue to give Mr Governor the necessary support to take our dear State of Osun to the highest level possible”, the monarch stated.

Akire also commended the Federal Government of Nigeria for the special public works programme, which he described as critical to addressing issues of poverty and youth restiveness.
