GOtv Boxing Night 24: Again, Ghana’s Quick Action Threatens Baby Face

Posted on December 15, 2021

Ghanaian boxer, Justice “Qwick Action” Addy, has again threatened to disgrace Nigeria’s Rilwan “Baby Face” Babatunde when they clash for the World Boxing Federation (WBF) International title at GOtv Boxing Night 24 on 24 December.

The bout, which is the biggest of the six scheduled for the event will hold at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos and be accompanied by a live musical performance by the hot music act, Jamopyper.

Qwick Action who, two weeks ago, vowed to dismiss Baby Face in double quick time, was offended by the Nigerian opponent’s reaction to his boast. Baby Face had said, in response, that Qwick Action should ask about him from the many Ghanaian boxers he had defeated, declaring that the trend is not about to end.

In a Whatsapp message sent on Tuesday, Qwick Action stated he has no need to ask his defeated compatriots, saying Baby Face should shut up.

“You defeated Ghanaian boxers, but none of them is named Qwick Action, so there’s no need to ask around. Baby Face should rather go seek information about me because those he defeated know me very well. On 24 December, I will shut you up and make you regret ever fighting a boxer like me in the red, blue and double white corners,” he raved.

GOtv Boxing Night 24 will also see two domestic title duels, both rematches. Abiodun “Infiniti” Afinni will seek to redeem himself when he takes on Michael “Emirate” Godwin for the national cruiserweight title. Their last fight was won by Emirate via a fourth-round knockout. The national light heavyweight title will be contested by Adewale “Masevex” Masebinu, who gets a chance to avenge his 2019 knockout defeat by Segun “Success” Olanrewaju.

The six-fight line-up also has two welterweight clashes, with one between Semiu “Jagaban” Olapade and Taiwo “Gentle Boy” Olowu, while the other pairs Willian “Kaki” Amosu with Segun “War” Adeyemi. A bantamweight clash between Saheed “Eagle” Azeez and Aminu “Lucky Boy” Akintayo completes the roster. The best boxer at the event will go home with a cash prize of a N1million and the Mojisola Ogunsanya Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy.
