If there’s one man who triumphed where everyone waited for him to fail, the accolades belong Willie Obiano.

If the search is on for a leader who against all odds and the stormy pathway proved his mettle, search No further, Willie Obiano has projected himself to be the rallying point of leadership in South East Nigeria.

There’s No way the history of Anambra would be told, even if its been said upside down, without Chief Willie Mmaduaburochukwu Obiano heading the list of her Transformation in both Ends.

The emergence of Dr. Willie Obiano a renowned Banker who rose to the rank of Managing Director before his election as the 4th Democratic elected Governor of Anambra State to pilot her affairs availed the State the needed opportunity to reinvent itself.

Anambra, a state formerly known for its litany of declines, appalling slums, disturbing traffic congestion in the heart of the capital city, housing deficit and high rate of crime amongst the many issues, can presently be described as state in transition and a smart city in every sense of it.

Governor Willie Obiano strides to reposition the State began with effective urban planning and the remodeling of Awka Capital City which was more of a poultry farm to a real State Capital with Bridges and Road Construction which beautified the city and limited the traffic congestion to a considerable halt with mounting of super Automated traffic systems across the six urban areas in the State.

Anambra as at today is No doubt one of the economic epicenter of Nigeria and West Africa, the administration of Governor Willie Obiano ensured an upturn in the State’s economy within his first 20 months as Governor and equally communicated his vision which allowed many to share in his big dream for Anambra State and ndị Anambra.

With a projected population of little above 15 million people, Anambra would before 2030 shoot to over 29.5 Million inhabitants which would make the State second most densely populated after Lagos, the number on its own is enough to frighten the planning of a new city; However Governor Willie Obiano had already begun to solve most of the likely problems that comes with such status with the revolution in housing sector, development of more urban areas in the State and Job creation through the Think Home philosophy that had seen many indigenous investors relocate to invest at home and attract other multinational companies to set up subsidiaries in Anambra State.

Many of these investors who have found viability in their home states have offered to share in the vision of Governor Willie Obiano to transform Anambra State to a real smart City that would compete with Lagos before 2050.

Anambra scuttles with enormous virgo not simply from dawn until dusk, but to another dawn as the cycle never breaks according residents who now describes the State Capital as a smart city with 24 hours active service in hospitality where everyone now walks the talk.
