Great Talent Auditions Ends On A High Note In Lagos

Contestants in their hundreds from all over Lagos and other parts of the western region attended the final leg of the regional auditions for the seventh God’s Children Great Talent (GCGT) held on 28 & 29 April, 2017 at Ultima Studios in Lekki.

As contestants arrived the audition venue, they respectively went through accreditation process followed by leadership classes, pre-selection, auditions with scouts and a counseling process before reaching the regional quarterfinals.

Vocal expert, Ben Ogbeiwi, Recording artiste Enitan Adaba, Nigerian Singer Moz, Gospel Musician, Mairo Ese, Nigerian Recording artiste, Nosa, Gospel Praise & Worship leader, Odunayo Aboderin, Choreographer, Ibrahim Suleiman, Comedian Frank Onero and Broadcaster cum singer, Gloria Maduka were on ground to see the regional auditions to an amazing end.

For the contestants at the auditions, it was a  survival of the fittest as only the best was good enough to proceed to the regional selections. Lagos auditions witnessed an array of talents ranging from Music, Comedy, Dance to Spoken Word displayed by youngsters between ages 5-20 years before the Judges for preliminary selections, ahead of quarterfinals.  …., … and Jesus Freak were some of the contestants present.

Kehinde Olawonuola and Rachael Whyte, members of a group known as Acro Dancers provided a major highlight for the Lagos auditions when they held judges spellbound with their body movements.

The thrilled judges excitedly gave the duo the pass mark to participate in the final regional selections.

Miss Korede, the trainer for the Acro dancers was very excited about the contestants getting into the next round.

In her words, “I am so happy and feel fulfilled that my wards have been recognized. Our hard work has really paid off. I’m hopeful that one of them will win the N250 Million management deal, the car and N10 million cash prize.”

With the regional competition coming to an end, all shortlisted contestants from Abuja, Port Harcourt and Lagos will battle it out at the Semi Finals that will hold in Lagos.

GCGT season 7 regional auditions will air on HIP TV, OH TV, Dove TV & Ebony Life from 6 May 2017.

God’s Children Great talent (GCGT) is Africa’s Biggest Youth Talent Competition.

An initiative by City of David Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God that continues to identify and celebrate talents in children and young adults from age 5 to 20 years.
