Greg Mbadiwe-Led Governing Council Appoints Prof Bernard Odoh As 7th Vice Chancellor Of UNIZIK

Posted on October 30, 2024

After a period without a substantive VC, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Ambassador Greg Mbadiwe, on Tuesday 29th October, 2024, appointed 49-year old Professor of Geophysics, Bernard Ifeanyi Odoh, as the Vice Chancellor of the university.

Prof Odoh, who hails from Ezza in Ebonyi State, was the Secretary to the Ebonyi State Government under former Governor David Umahi. He is also an alumni of the university, having had his first, second, and third degrees from the same university.

It will be recalled that the university has recently witnessed some drama over alleged imposition and it is hoped that the appointment of Prof Odoh will settle the dust raised over the choice of who will become the new Vice Chancellor of the university.
