Groups Pledge Support, Massive Votes For Oyegbola-Sodipo, Other APC Candidates in Saturday’s LG Election

Further boost has come for the chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, as various market, artisan and youth groups, on Wednesday, declared their support for him and pledged to vote massively for the APC in the Saturday, November 16 election in the local government. 

The groups, which included youth groups and associations, market leaders, traders’ groups, automobile technicians, tailors, carpenters, teachers and many other artisanial associations during a stakeholders’ engagement in Abeokuta, extolled the leadership qualities of Hon. Oyegbola-Sodipo, declaring him as their preferred choice for the chairmanship of Abeokuta North LGA.

The groups also backed the vice chairmanship candidate, Hon. Taiyelolu Egbeyemi and the party’s 16 councillorship candidates, assuring them of bloc votes for the APC candidates in the Saturday council election.

Representatives of the various groups, who spoke during what turned out to be a convivial town hall meeting, expressed their joy at the humility of the APC chairmanship candidate, Hon. Oyegbola-Sodipo, for deeming it fit to engage with them and giving them the opportunity to interact with him about his vision for the local government.

The Babaloja of iberekodo market, said, “We have listened carefully to Hon Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo and his vision for our local government. We are happy with the various developmental initiatives that you have outlined. The market leaders on behalf of all traders, pledge our unwavering support to your aspiration as the APC chairmanship candidate for Abeokuta North Local Government. We assure you, the vice chairmanship candidate and the councillorship candidates that our votes will go to APC on Saturday.”

Similarly, the Iyaloja of Lafenwa market, Alhaja (Mrs.) Sidikat Owe noted: “We are convinced that your leadership qualities will bring prosperity to our local government. We’re solidly behind you and the APC, and we want to assure you that we are going to vote for you and other candidates of the party to ensure a landslide victory.”

The Chairman of Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association (NATA), Abeokuta North LGA, Mr Lukmon Adenekan affirmed the support of the association thus: “We believe in your vision for our local government, and we’re committed to mobilising our members to vote for you and all the party’s candidates.”

 

President of National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN) a youth organisation, Comrd mujeeb Ajewugbade declaring their support said: “Your commitment to the youth through various youth development initiatives is unparalleled, and we’re confident that you’ll deliver on your promises. You can count on our votes as the coalition of youths in Abeokuta North Local Government.”

Another leader of an artisan group, Mr Saheed stated: “We’ve seen your passion for the development of our communities in this local government, and we’re convinced that you’re the right leader for Abeokuta North local government. Rest assured of resolve to rally our members to vote for you come Saturday.”

While expressing his appreciation and that of his fellow APC candidates to the various groups for the large turnout at the stakeholders’ meeting, Hon. Oyegbola-Sodipo in particular thanked them for their support and pledge to cast their votes for him and the party’s candidates.

“Your being here today and the huge solidarity that you have shown, in addition to your assurances of bloc votes for our great party, the APC, on Saturday, November 16th, demonstrated your confidence in our candidacy in terms of quality leadership and transformative developmental programmes that we will bring to Abeokuta North Local Government.  Your support is very encouraging, and we look forward to receiving votes in this very important election this Saturday,” he stated.
