Guber Aspirant, Atoye,  Slams Ekiti PDP For Endorsing Fayose’s Deputy

One of the aspirants in next year’s gubernatorial election in Ekiti State, Mr Ariyo Dare Atoye has berated the state’s chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for throwing caution to the dustbin and endorsed Deputy Governor, Prof Kolapo Olusola, from Ekiti South Senatorial District, as the preferred candidate of the party.

While reacting to Wednesday’s action from the stakeholders, Atoye through Gbenga Obisesan, Director of Youth Mobilisation of Team Ariyo Dare Atoye (TADA) in a press release said: “Our attention has been drawn to the purported and hasty endorsement of a governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti state ahead of the 2018 gubernatorial election by a minority group of stakeholders.

” This unpopular, undemocratic and anachronistic endorsement runs contrary to the party’s constitution, fair participation and open democratic contest. “Aside the obvious fact that this self-serving narrow-action has been greeted with much disdain and state-wide rejection, it has equally put the Ekiti PDP in a bad light nationwide.

“While we demand the immediate reversal of this ill-advised action, we urge all “real stakeholders” of the Ekiti PDP to rise up to the occasion and ensure this misguided action is corrected.

“We wish to state it clearly that the strength of the PDP lies in the greater majority and not in one individual or a group of persons pursuing narrow interest. “Our candidate, Sir. Ariyo Dare Atoye, is a political missionary and has committed himself to the NEXT PHASE of Ekiti where knowledge and ideas would be used to solve our problems and create abundant wealth. He had on July 29, 2017, in Ado-Ekiti, declared his interest in the Ekiti governorship race.

“The highly informed Youth of Ekiti and our wise elders are eagerly waiting for a team that would unleash limitless possibilities. TADA represents these possibilities. This is our future and we must salvage it – Igba Titun Ekiti. “
