Health Commissioner, Dr. Okpala, Dr. Ezenyimulu, Others Bag AIPHP Fellowship Awards

African Institute of Public Health Professionals (AIPHP) has conferred on the Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala, the Executive Secretary of State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Chioma Ezenyimulu and others with its fellowship awards.
In his brief remark, the Registrar of AIPHP, Ayodele Bankole, FAIPH, who spoke during the induction ceremony which was held at Geogold Hotels in Awka, explained that the group is a continental assembly of healthcare professionals of diverse disciplines and cultural identities.

“The group is bound by the determination to reduce the burden of diseases through promotion of public health professionalism; collaborative scientific research, shaping of health policy agenda and strengthening of healthcare systems in Africa with the aim of achieving sustainable development goals (SGDs).”
Ayodele noted that the new fellows were carefully selected by the board of AIPHP in recognition of their sterling achievements in promoting good health in the state.

In his vote of thanks, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Okpala, appreciated the Board and membership of AIPHP and dedicated the award to the staff of his Ministry for believing in the goal of restoring the pride of health care system in the state.
He averred that it took a while for things to get bad but it will take a few determined individuals to turn things around for the better and said; ‘we are that generation that will bring about this turn around”.

Other dignitaries present at the induction include; Prof. Sunny Ekwunife, Director of Public Health in the state, Dr. Uche Onyejimbe, Ag. Director of Nursing, Mrs Uche Udenze, Project Manager FHI, Afam Anaeme MD. and many others.
