Holiday Soccer Tourney: Yaba Council Boss Tasks Teams To Shun Violence

The Executive Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Dr Kayode Adejare Omiyale has charged the participating teams to shun any form of violence that can tarnish the image of the ongoing U-15 Holiday Soccer Tournament taking place at Iwaya playground, Yaba, Mainland, Lagos.
The council boss disclosed this when the Chairman Organising Committee led by Taofeek Ganiu paid him a courtesy visit recently in his office. Ganiu said the cup donor has approved the sponsorship of the tournament but tasked the organisers to give equal opportunity to all participating teams without fear or favour.
“Let me say that the council boss has given us go ahead to commence the competition in his name and he told us that we should try as much as possible to prevent any form of violence during and after the game. We are aware of the challenges of the competition and we have put measures in place to ensure that the tournament is hitch free,” he said.
In the opening match played over the weekend, Omiyale FC defeated Glory FC 2-0, Puma FC played 0-0 with Dragon FC, Bamise God FC humbled Soccer City 1-0, Ultimate FC forced Sunshine FC to 2-2.
