Hon. Dr Folashade Olabanji-Oba Applauds Ikorodu’s Impressive INEC CVR Exercise

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu Local Government Area has once again demonstrated its dedication to participatory democracy with the successful implementation of the INEC Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise across all geopolitical wards.
After four weeks of intensive mobilization and coordination, the Ikorodu INEC CVR Implementation Committee released its official summary report, revealing a total of 25,672 new voter registrations — a clear reflection of the growing civic awareness and democratic enthusiasm in the community.
The report, released on October 12, 2025, showed that all wards recorded impressive turnouts, with Ward G leading the chart with 6,160 registered voters.

The committee was established to enhance grassroots voter participation, improve awareness about the importance of obtaining a Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC), and ensure full cooperation with INEC officials throughout the registration process.
 Aarebirin Commends the Spirit of Ikorodu
In her remarks, Aarebirin Hon. Princess Dr. Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Publicity Secretary of the Committee and immediate past Executive Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, expressed deep appreciation to the people for their active involvement.
“This result after four weeks shows that Ikorodu people truly believe in democracy and in shaping their own future. Every Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) represents a voice, a vision, and a vote for good governance,” she said.
She emphasized that the massive turnout was a reflection of the unity and commitment of Ikorodu citizens towards progress and good leadership.
“We thank every individual who contributed to this achievement. Our people have proven again that progress begins when everyone participates. Let’s continue the momentum — because our voices matter, and our votes count,” she added.
According to her, the initiative has reinforced the message of civic responsibility and strengthened the bond between government, communities, and citizens.
 “Democracy thrives when people are informed, involved, and inspired. Ikorodu has set a good example for others to follow,” Aarebirin concluded.
