Hon Julius Oloro: Taking Ojodu To greater Heights

A good government is always interested in the well-being of its people and vigorously pursues the infrastructural development of its communities.

These two elements had been paramount to the administration of Hon. Julius Olumuyiwa Oloro, the Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA and as a matter of truism, landmark evidences of his administration’s commitment to the fulfillment of his election promises.

The activities of Hon. Oloro since he took over as the Council boss in 2017 have been geared towards meaningful policies, programmes and projects having made campaign promises before his resounding victory at the last local government election in the state. He therefore hit the ground running and has recorded tremendous success in setting the stage for the realization of people oriented and life changing programmes for the residents of the council. A visit to the areas within the Council will affirm the aforementioned as people oriented projects can be seen alongside several ongoing ones.

The first thing any visitor to the Council Headquarters will notice is the cordial relationship that exists between the people of Ojodu LCDA and the local government administration as people have unfettered access to the Council officials and are attended to promptly.

Another spectacular success in the string of achievements of Hon. Oloro’s administration is the boost of the Internally Generated Revenue of the Council. With the improved revenue drive of the Council under his watch, leakages within the system were blocked giving room for availability of funds to execute noble projects. The vision for the Ogba multipurpose shopping complex equally shows that the administration is determined to raise the internally generated revenue of the Council.

Within 100 days in office as the Council boss, Hon. Julius Oloro had so many projects to showcase as achievements. In the area of education, free writing materials were made available to pupils and students within the Council area. He also constructed and commissioned a modern toilet facility at Oke-ira Primary School and many others.

After marking his 100 days in office as the Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Oloro raised the performance bar by embarking on several projects within the Council area.

In line with respect for different organs of government, Hon. Julius Oloro has given the needed attention to the other arms of government. Some months ago, he inaugurated the official cars of the members of the legislative arm of the LCDA and made sure that legislators are comfortable while performing their duties. This great gesture was commended by all the beneficiaries, as they showered encomium on Hon. Oloro for judiciously utilizing the resources of the Council. The Executive Chairman also used the occasion to reiterate his firm believe in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people, staff members, appointed and elected staff of Ojodu LCDA.

It is on record that the energetic Council boss ably supported by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Bunmi Oluyade, has constructed some roads and drainages which have brought succour to commuters and residents in the area. A visit to Adeyemi Alao/Ondo Street Oke-ira, Erinisho Street, Adeshina Street Oke-Ira, Lawason Street in Ward C, Oke -Ira, Celestial Avenue, Ishola Bello Street and others showed that the administration is committed to people oriented projects.

With a determination to lift the standard of education in the Council area, Hon. Oloro embarked on the construction of block of six classrooms at Oke-Ira Primary School.  He also distributed desks benches, mathematical sets, books and other writing materials to all public primary schools and junior secondary schools in Ojodu LCDA coupled with the distribution of 200 GCE forms to students around the 6 wards in Ojodu LCDA.

To boost the health care and welfare of his people, he commissioned the Ojodu Primary Health Care Centre at Gbadamosi. He has equally assisted the senior citizens of Ojodu LCDA in his poverty alleviation drive and had embarked on free medical missions which included screenings for the hypertensive and diabetic people in the area.

The commissioning of ICT centre at Sogoron showed that the administration of Hon. Oloro understands the importance of information and communication technology in today’s world.

When P.M.EXPRESS visited the Council Secretariat on a fact finding mission, the Council boss said that even with the accolades coming his way, he is more than determined to stick to the APC campaign manifesto and continue in the consistent delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people.

Hon. Oloro promised not to rest until his dream of taking Ojodu to greater heights is achieved considerably through progressive and productive governance. He reassured total commitment to meaningful policies and programmes that will have positive transformational impact in the lives of the people of Ojodu LCDA. He further promised that his administration will continue to practice an inclusive government by bringing visionary leaders together to actualise the primary objective of bringing about good governance to the door steps of the people.

With several projects and programmes, Hon. Oloro has demonstrated that he deserved the “Outstanding Grassroots Political Leader Of The Year” award he was given at Ikeja City Awards in 2017.
