Hon Segun Odunmbaku Lauds Gov Sanwo-Olu For Commissioning 1.0MGD Akilo Waterworks

The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, has applauded Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for the successful completion and commissioning of the 1.0 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) Akilo (Isheri-Oke) Mini Waterworks, a landmark project located within around the council area.


Hon. Odunmbaku, who joined the Governor and other dignitaries at the commissioning earlier today, described the project, facilitated by the Lagos State Water Corporation (LSWC) in partnership with WaterAid as a transformational intervention that will significantly improve access to clean and safe water for residents of Ojodu LCDA and neighbouring Agege LGA.


Hon Segun Odunmbaku who was at the event alongside Chairman of Agege LGA, Hon Vinod Obasa commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for reviving and completing critical water infrastructure, noting that the renewed facility will enhance public health, reduce water scarcity and support socioeconomic growth within the communities it serves.



At the event attended by Commissioner For Environment, Hon. Tokunbo Wahab and MD of Lagos State Water Board, Mr Mukhtar Tijani, Hon Segun Odunmbaku said “This administration’s commitment to restoring water projects is a testament to Governor Sanwo-Olu’s visionary leadership and genuine concern for the welfare of Lagosians,” and that “Ojodu LCDA will work closely with LSWC to ensure the long-term maintenance and sustainability of this vital public asset.”
