Hotel Staff, 19, Arrested Over Missing Money In Owner’s Wife’s Room

There was confusion in a popular hotel over the alleged missing of the sum of N400,000 in the room, where the wife of the owner of Triple i Hotel & Suites, Mrs. Lateefat Irawo, lodged as a 19-year old staff allegedly sneaked into the room for an undisclosed mission in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the hotel staff, Isaac Effecia, has landed in trouble after Mrs. Irawo alleged that he stole money which she kept in her purse.

The incident happened at Agbaje Street, off Alagbada Bus Stop, Ijegun Road, Ikotun area of Lagos.
The suspect, Effecia, has been arrested and charged for the alleged stealing.
The complainant was said to have lodged in the hotel and the staff reportedly sneaked into the room, stole the money she kept in her purse and escaped before she started looking for the money.
The matter was reported to the Police at Isheri Oshun Division and the suspect was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and stealing.
He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K.A. Ariyo, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
