The two-year old marriage between Mrs. Maimuna Umar Gora and her husband, Sabo Shehu Kabara, has collapsed because the wife prefers her boyfriend to her husband and decided to quit the marriage in Kano State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the housewife, Mrs. Maimuna Umar Gora, has filed a suit before the Court seeking for the dissolution of her marriage with her husband, Sabo Shehu Kabara, because she prefers her boyfriend.

The suit was filed before the Kano Shari’a Court sitting in Danbare of Kumbotso LGA of Kano State to separate her from a two-year marriage.

The embattled wife told the Court that she preferred her boyfriend and the marriage was allegedly consented to by her parents for worldly materials and she cannot cope with the marriage.

She had earlier filed several suits before but they failed before she filed the present suit seeking for the dissolution of the marriage with her husband, Sabo Shehu Kabara.

An embittered Mrs. Gora told the Court that she was in love with her boyfriend, but her parents consummated the marriage with the man she does not know.

She explained that her parents forced her to get married to him without her consent because the man has a farm land in their community and her parents forced her to get married to him but she can no longer cope with him.

“Because he owns a farm in our town, where he has been visiting and sought the consent of my parents to marry me.” she stated.

The presiding judge, Khadi Munzali Idris Gwadabe, ordered that the estranged husband be served a summon to appear before the Court and the matter was adjourned till 12th June, 2025, for hearing.
