A sex-starved housewife, Jemila Momoh,  has filed a suit before the Grade I Area Court in Kubwa, Abuja, for the dissolution of her marriage to Suleiman Shazaliyu on grounds of abandonment thereby denying her sex for the past two years of their marriage.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the mother of four told the Court that she got married to her estrange husband under Islamic Laws in March 2021 and the marriage ceremony was peaceful but before she would settle down it collapsed.

An embattled housewife told the Court that after the marriage, the respondent abandoned her and there was lack of emotional, physical, mental and spiritual intimacy between them.

The embittered housewife further told the Court that due to lack of intimacy and peace between them, she tried to resolve the matter and made several efforts including meeting with friends and family in order to save the marriage but her husband was adamant.

She noted that it was obvious that the marriage has collapsed because she cannot cope with her husband’s abandonment and gross inability to fill his obligations to her as wife. And so, she has decided to quit the marriage in order to move on with her life.

However, the respondent was absent in Court, and the Court bailiff, Mr. Dangana Bawa, told the Court that he called and informed the respondent on the hearing date of the case but he did not come to the Court.

The petitioner’s counsel, Mr. Otacha Bako, applied to the Court for substituted service to be effected on the premises of the respondent in order to ensure that he comes to the Court for the next sitting.

Bako said that a personal service was not affected because the respondent evaded service and urged the Court to order for a personal service again.

The judge, Malam Ibrahim Rufai, ordered for personal service to be effected on the respondent and adjourned the matter until 19th September, 2023, for hearing.
