Two teenagers, Stanley Okorie, 15 and Kingsley Okorie, 15, have been rescued by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) at Ikeja, Lagos, while hiding under the tyre compartment of Emirates Airline steaming aircraft in order to stowaway to Dubai, United Arab Emirate, for greener pastures.

The incident happened on 20th day of May, 2025, at the holding point of the tarmac, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.

The teenagers were rescued and handed over to the Police at Airport Division for interrogation over their alleged conduct.

According to the Police, the teenagers,  Stanley and Kingsley wanted to travel abroad for greener pastures but their major challenge was how to raise money to perfect their traveling documents.

When they could not raise the money,  they decided to risk their lives in order to achieve their aims by sneaking into the airport and hiding under the aircraft tyre compartment to stowaway to Dubai.

However, they ran out of luck while they were under the tyre waiting to fly to Dubai without minding the risk involved as the security men on routine monitoring at the airport discovered that they were there and eventually rescued them.

They were handed over to the Police at the Airport Division for interrogation over their alleged conduct. They confessed that they wanted to travel abroad for greener pastures and had no money to procure their travelling documents and so they decided to risk their lives.

The Police has charged the suspects before the Ogba Magistrate Court for their conduct and were remanded in custody at the juvenile centre.

The Presiding Magistrate, M.A. Agbaje, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the juvenile center pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
