The four days old marriage between a businessman, Lawal Huwai and his wife, Promise, has crashed after the husband caught her chatting on social media with another man and she claimed to be single in Abuja, the Federal Capital.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the embittered husband, Lawal, has filed a suit before Jikwoyi Customary Court, Abuja, seeking for the dissolution of his marriage to Promise.
The embattled husband told the Court that he discovered four days after his marriage to Promise that it was built on lies, deception and falsehood.
“My Lord, I caught my wife chatting online with a man, whom she told that she was single and I discovered it four days after our marriage that the union was built on lies.”
“I caught her chatting online with a man. She told the man that she was single.“
He also told the Court that apart from the online chatting incident with another man, she also lied about her age and he cannot remain married to her because of her deceit and falsehood within the short period of their marriage.
Narrating his ugly experience, the man, Lawal Huwai, alleged that Promise had a miscarriage. And when he asked her what happened, she said that even if she was delivered of the baby, the baby would have died.
“My lord, I asked her what she meant by that but she didn’t give me any tangible explanation.”
He pleaded with the Court to grant his application for divorce because he was not sure that Promise wants to build a home.
However, his wife, Promise, who was not in Court, sent in a letter stating reasons for her absence.
The Presiding Judge, Mrs. Thelma Baba, adjourned the matter till 17th August, 2023, for hearing.
