How Armed Robbers Hit Aso Rock Hotel & Robbed Customers
MICHAEL AKINOLA

It was a nasty experience for customers who went to the popular Aso Rock Hotel for relaxation as they were attacked and robbed by armed robbers.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the hotel located at Abaranje Road, Ikotun area of Lagos.
Though there was no lost of life but the customers were said to have sustained minor injuries while they were trying to escape the robbers.
According to an eye witness, the robbers stormed the place disguised as customers until they brandished weapons, which they pointed at the customers and then disposed some of their mobile phones and cash. It was until they tried to escape before the security realised that they were robbers.
However, one of the suspects, Owolabi Ogundele, 19, was later arrested while the remaining gang members were still at large.
The suspect was subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and armed robbery, which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.
The Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Innocent, that the matter should be referred to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody without option of bail and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 26th April, 2021, for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
